BLACKSBURG, Va. - A gunman opened fire in a Virginia Tech dorm and then, two hours later, shot up a classroom across campus Monday, killing 32 people in the deadliest shooting rampage in U.S. history. The gunman committed suicide, bringing the death toll to 33.

i have absolutely no doubt that the same would have happened at brock. for instance the "anthrax" scare, where the first most people knew of it was the unusually long lineup at the gym. or the "bomb" scare, where i didnt know about it until three days later. some things do merit an evacuation, even if youre not sure. and in that case, there were already a number of people dead, on campus, you would think you would cancel classes for the day simply out of courtesy.

how hard is it to install a PA system, anyway?

Brock is a gigantic ball of stupid, as well.

This is the sort of problem you get when institutes of Higher Learning become obsessed with financial matters. "Let's not make a scene, because people might not apply next year!"
