Cat surprisingly liked Black Friday. It wasn't about scoring that perfect pair of shoes or finding that the jacket you had been drooling over for the past month was suddenly 60% off. I mean, if she found a kick ass pair of boots, she wouldn't say no to them...but it wasn't her reason for going out.
No. That was chaos. The pure, unbridled chaos that came with the day. People lined up for hours outside. Soccer moms getting into physical fights over toys...teen girls hair pulling for the last scarf...it was magic. Pure magic.
So sitting in the food court, sipping at the sweet sweet caffeine, and watching everything unfold around her...she was having the time of her life.
J.D. was at the mall for a reason similar to his daughter, it was a beautiful sight watching people's insanity over clothes and other trinkets the mall had to offer them. He found it downright haliarius to watch older woman attack younger for clothes that he knew they would likely die seeing them kids in, still they went crazy.
So after leaving one of the store's he made his way on down stairs walking amoungst the others in the store not trying to stand out at all. It was when he decided to detour into the foodcourt and get a slushie cause he's still not ventured to get the coffee yet.
Aisling had, up until the most recent store they were in, been a girl on a mission. Not that she hadn't been in the past, considering last year's epic hunt for pleather leggings and the year before that's hunt for headbands. But this year was different. This year involved a scarf that both she and one of the other Ashleys had been eying for the past week and a half. A scarf that she had happened to grab four of, yet only one with a red and black print that both girls had eyed previously.
So instead of drinking her latte, Aisling had the red and teal scarves she had bought out and was comparing them. "So, which one should I give to Ashley? Because I know she wanted the red one and I know she'll get judgey about a redhead wearing red, buuut I think it'd look better on me."
Honestly? Cat could not care less. She didn't get the whole scarf thing. I mean, she understood scarves in general but not why it was such a big deal that a certain person got a certain scarf. It was just a scarf! "Ummmm...I don't know...the teal?"
She shrugged as she stirred her latte lazily. "If you want the red, you should keep it."
