Office of the Elliot -- Sunday 9am

Feb 18, 2008 00:21

There was a time in my life where I didn't know Sunday morning without being dragged out of bed to go to church. I mean, I still consider myself fairly religious, but work and Sunday service just don't make for a good mix. Like this one time, when I was an intern, I made myself go to church before work.. and guess who's physical I'm doing later ( Read more... )

It had been on my mind since I, well, happened to glance at JD's drivers license. While he was sleeping. One day. Recently. Because I'm horrible with dates but I knew JD's birthday was coming up. Before Jack's in March. Thankfully I had looked because it was coming up, and fast. Only, I have no idea what to do. I mean, I blew all my fabulous surprise ideas on Valentine's Day. What do I do now?

I pause to scrub a hand down my face. This right here, right now, might be the worst idea I've ever had. But time was running thin and I couldn't find Carla yet this morning. 'Forgetting' to knock, I push open Barbie's office's door. Please no early morning cuddling with The Todd.

"Hi.. Perry?" I jump, a little startled. No one bothers me this early! (Well, except Boon when he feels like testing his luck..) "Um.. good morning?" I ask, testily. I know from experience he's not much of a morning person. Or an afternoon person. Or a quarter past two person.

I give her a dismissive wave as I reach to shut the door after me. "Yeah yeah, morning to you too, Barbie." I glance down at the chair in front of her desk. And contemplate sitting. But I don't know who's been in here. And what said company has been doing with her. And such a thought sends me to fold my arms and stay standing.

I try and stay gruff. Clipped. Serious. But one glance at her confused look and my shoulders slump. I sigh as I mutter, "His birthday's coming up." As if that answers everything.

"Well, yeah.. and? Whatta you need me for? Rumor has it, you spoiled him on Valentine's," I smirk, "What's the matter, Per? Used up all of your romantic gestures for the year?"
