Well, overall, I'd say that was a pretty unremarkable, low key episode. Didn't feel like a "finale" to me. But then, I'm not a Will/Alicia shipper (and if I were, I'd feel a little cheated by that ending. I thought the runners said there weren't any cliffhangers this year? What if they couldn't get the ice maker to work? :b)

Anyway: Kalinda.

I'm both strangely relieved and disappointed that she and Alicia are...what? More awkward than tense. Relieved cause I wanted some sign that the love was still there. Disappointed because it seems a waste of all that delicious angst of just last week to already have Alicia breaking down and asking for Kalinda's help, for Kalinda to overtly be trying to make things easier on her, for there to be a rather comedic team up (interviewing the judge's daughter).

While I LOVED all that - it seemed too premature. It de-fanged the import of last week. This was stuff I expected 4 episodes into the next season. If we were lucky. Once we earned it. *shrug ( ... )

Well put, all of it. I might have more to add when I manage to finish this infernal Latin commentary that's due at the end of the week and actually get a chance to think about this episode, but those were pretty much my first impressions down to a tee. Loved the quip re tequila!buddy substitute Will - spot on.

Glad it made some sense. lol If you get a chance, I'd love to hear your other thoughts...

Good luck with the commentary. Nolite te bastardes carborundorum. (Really, that's the only sorta Latin I know!)

Lol :) I'm amused: another version, "Illegitimi non carborundum", is the slogan of my school's band. And no worries, I'll be back soon with more paragraphs that never end - (over)analyzing is literally my job (I'm a classicist).

More later, for sure...

I would agree with Rhyfeddu on pretty much everything there! I was a bit surprised at the A/K stuff, although you've gotta admit that the one person you need if someone sends you a bloody glove is Kalinda Sharma. She almost HAD to ask her for help ( ... )

So I finally go to post this, and the thing is too long for one post. I think that's sufficient warning. :P Anyhow, here goes, pretty much my two(x1000) cents scene by scene ( ... )

My quick, short comment:

AWESOME.

And (I'm absolutely serious here) would you consider going back and starting at season one and doing Kalinda centric reviews of the show and posting them here??

I know you're busy getting educalated an' stuff and having a life and all, but I would love to hear your take on her character from the beginning. *nudgevergingonashove*

Really. Ponder. Then do it! LOL

Okay, longer response later...

Are you pondering what I'm pondering? :P

Thanks for the comments, and the suggestion. It's very appealing, not least since Kalinda is a serious contender for the title of most intriguing character I've seen on TV. Fair warning: It might take me some time to get my hands on the episodes and then figure out exactly how cuts and tags and all that work.

There's also the "second reader" effect to consider - whatever we see now is affected by our knowledge of what's to come, and we can't help that. That said, I still think it would be a worthwhile project. **sigh** One down, forty-something to go...

Looking forward to the longer response!

Not if what I/we are pondering will get me in trouble! :D

So, still on the fly, but in regards to the practical side of posting here (tags, cuts and whatnot), I'll be happy to help you out there. I at least have that mastered, tho I'm hardly a tech whiz generally...

And are you a member of Netflix? That's where I rented the S1 discs and got caught up recently. And Amazon probably has a used set, if you wanted to actually posess them (I think I'll go that route soon, actually). And also, CBS has full episodes on their site (I believe it would extend back to the beginning), but those never played well for me, so, see for yourself...

Aaaannndd, yes - no way to un-do all our S2 knowledge. We have nibbled on the apple there. But. It will make you feel all omniscient and powerful. lol

Longer response still to come!
