I Take My Aim: A Kalinda Sharma Fanmix

Jul 05, 2010 22:59

I have a new computer and can finally handle graphics again.
What better way to pretty things up than sharing the mix that has been in my itunes for months and paying tribute to one badass private detective?

Comments are ♥.
Let me know if you have Kalinda songs, too!  Or make a fanmix of your own to share!

Arrow - Tegan & Sara
Would you take a straight and narrow, critical look at me?
Would you tell me tough love style, put judicial weight on me?

(If only Alicia would put her judicial weight on Kalinda IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.)

Zero - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Find me never, never far gone
So get your leather, leather, leather on, on, on.

(A hard to decipher song, but then again, that's kind of fitting. Also, leather. You know how Kalinda feels about leather.)

Gold Guns Girls - Metric
All the gold and the guns and the girls couldn't get you off
All the boys, all the choices in the world

(This is basically what we know about Kalinda in a nutshell.)

None of Dem - Robyn
None of dem get my sex
None of dem move my intellect
None of dem work for me
None of dem make me feel anything

(Kalinda's plight: Nobody gets her sex. Nobody moves her intellect.)

Tick Tick Boom - The Hives
Exhibit 'B' what you see, well that's me
I'll put you back in your place

(This song is so frantic and hardhitting. Kinda makes me feel the same way Kalinda does - a little uncomfortable and also like I want to jump up and down on things and punch the air, all empowered.)

Midnight Rockers - Bedouin Soundclash
And you're a midnight rocker
Then get yourself together

(I can't help including this number on any and all badass mysterioso chick mixes.)

Watching the Detectives - Elvis Costello
I don't know how much more of this I can take
She's filing her nails while they're dragging the lake

(There are probably deeper meanings to the story in this song, but I think it works.  Also, Elvis Costello is downright cool, like Ms. Sharma.)

Put Your Lights On - Santana
Hey now, all you sinners
Put your lights on, put your lights on
Hey now, all you lovers
Put your lights on, put your lights on
Hey now, all you killers
Put your lights on, put your lights on

(This is basically a "Kalinda drives around at night, through the emptying streets of Chicago" song.  There's something very romantic about Kalinda's ownership of her surroundings, especially when she's tooling around in that bigass SUV.)
