That's exciting! Has it been modified at all for your diabetes? Weight Watchers has gotten really fruit heavy, so I was just wondering if they're doing anything differently for you.
They haven't modified it for diabetes, but I did get to talk with a certified diabetes educator each week for the first three weeks. I was surprised by the fruit, too, because I haven't been eating much fruit for a long time.
The biggest surprise was that I can have a whole cup of mixed berries, which looks like a huge amount when I put it in a bowl. That's only 70 calories (I buy frozen mixed berries in bags and thaw out a cup at a time) and zero points, and if I mix it with 1/4 cup of low fat ricotta it makes an amazing dessert.
I sometimes have a small banana for a snack and that doesn't cause me problems either.
I think the idea is to see how the regular program works for diabetics and see if they need to make modifications. It will be very interesting to see where they go from here.
