Challenge 18 : Theme Challenge [Icon Olympics]
The Summer Olympics ended just a few days ago, but for those of us non-athletes, the fun has just begun. Come represent your house in the icon Olympics by competing in the following categories:
BOXING - BE BOLD
If you wish to be a boxer, you can't be afraid of getting rough. Show your boldness with colors that pop off the screen, daring crops, big text, or loud textures.

EQUESTRIAN - OBVIOUS TEXTURE USE
Those who compete in the equestrian events at the olympics must not only be athletes themselves; they also have to show control of their horses. To enter an icon in this category, you must show your mastery of textures by letting them shine--or even take center stage--in your icons.

GYMNASTICS - NO RESOURCES
Gymnasts combine strength and grace to achieve amazing feats of athleticism. See how far you can push yourself as an iconner as you complete icons using no resources (textures, fonts, brushes, etc.) that did not come with your graphics program. (Please enter both your icon and a screenshot of your layers palette for this challenge)

HANDBALL - BE QUIRKY
Handball is a sport unlike any other. It's a fast-paced game that mashes up a lot of rules from different sports into one game that can be as strange as it is amusing. For this medal, you must push yourself to create icons that are a little out there--whether you combine two styles that normally don't go together, or just take a left turn where you'd usually take a right, use this challenge to do something different.

SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING - ONE CAP, TWO ICONS
Synchronized swimmers work together to present routines where there movements perfectly match up--if they're lucky. To compete here, you must start both your icons from the exact same cap, and see where you can take it. (all icons entered to this challenge must be in pairs)

TRACK - 10 LAYERS OR FEWER
To excel in track, you can't be a slow runner. To excel in this category, you can't be a slow iconner, either. You get ten layers total (yes, copy-merges count) to make an awesome icon. Can you make it to the finish line? (Please enter both your icon and a screenshot of your layers palette for this challenge)
(BONUS) PENTATHLON - FIVE OF THE ABOVE
Are you a superstar iconner? Create two icons each for five of the above prompts, and you will be awarded 10 additional points. (note that you can still only earn a max of 60 points from this challenge).
X - Icons should be made for this challenge, and cannot be submitted for points elsewhere
X - Icons should be 100x100 pixels, 40kb or less
X - Icons should follow the theme of the challenge - I reserve the right to refuse you points if you do not follow the theme
X - Icons are worth 5 points & you can earn up to 60 points (up to 12 icons, or 10 icons with the Pentathlon bonus).
