Nevertheless I am continually with You;
You have taken hold of my right hand.

You will guide me with Your counsel,
And afterward you will receive me in glory.

Whom do I have in heaven but You?
And besides You there is nothing I desire on earth.

My flesh and my heart fail,
But God is the rock of my heart and my portion forever.-Psalms 73:22-26

Your posts are like a cool breeze on a hot day. With all the apologetics and doctrinal pilpul on this forum (which I do indeed enjoy) it is wonderful to have a participant who so clearly expresses the tangible presence of God in our lives. It reminds me that there are some things for which the tools of our intellect are useless. People need to have a direct experience with the living God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. You are obviously one who has had that experience and continues to have that experience on an ongoing basis ( ... )

Amen, and I believe this is why the Lord has created us with a human spirit. :)

Thus declares the Lord, who stretches forth the heavens and lays the foundations of the earth and forms the spirit of man within him-Zech. 12:1

The Spirit Himself witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God-Rom. 8:16

But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit-1 Cor. 6:17

Jesus answered, Truly, truly I say to you, Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit-John 3:5-6

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truthfulness-John 4:24

God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit-Rom. 1:9

The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you.-2 Tim 4:22

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen. -Gal. 6:18

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.-Phil. 4:23

My experience is that denominational affiliations are about as useful an indicator of people's actual spiritual state as their shoe size -- because each believer has his or her own spirit, and ultimately it is the experience of that individual spirit with His Spirit that molds us into the believer that we are. This is why the distinction between soul and spirit is so critical. The soul may may allow the mouthing of dogmatic words picked up in the course of explicit teaching. The spirit, on the other, is capable of responding more directly to His Spirit -- assuming regeneration.

"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." -Hebrews 4:12

Yes, there are overcomers in each type of church (Rev. Chapters 2-3).

I'm a little sad that in this community no one is moved to comment on a posting of scripture -- especially when I believe that posting is prophetic in the sense of being led by the Holy Spirit. That's one thing ( ... )

(Mistake that could happen to anyone). If I had posted this to the community, I would expect at least 6 to 10 to say "Thank you for posting this," (and maybe one or two to find something to object to). :P ( ... )

As for our need to speak the truth in love without compromising the truth, I feel the all-important question is whether we are expressing Christ or expressing ourselves when speaking what is true.

We as human beings are formed to express God's image, likeness and dominion (Gen. 1:26-28; Isaiah 43:7). We should be wary of losing the image and expression of God in the way we speak the truth. Even if we are dealing with rebellious "heretics", whether or not we are expressing Christ in our wisdom, timing, emphasis and flavor means everything. If we express our self with no presence of the Lord or leading of the Spirit, we may be doctrinally "right" yet still not be right with God or right with man. Our "being right" is not a carte blanche to speak however we want. What, when, why and how we speak to others should be the issue of our prayer life before the Lord--as should be our attitudes towards others--and anything less than this is to some degree lawlessness ( ... )

Hello! perishingvision September 12 2007, 10:25:45 UTC
Hello, I love that psalm.
There is a beauty and joy in the shared worship of our God. I just wanted to thank you for the "word". I don't take the time to fellowship as I should, the cares of this world seem to steal so much time...I have been reading William Law.. I love his insight into the unseen things..God bless all who love His salvation....In Christ, Melody
