Living with Jim Moriarty has been an interesting experience. In the months that they have occupied the same space, Violet has grown accustomed to the odd hours that her fiance keeps and the way he conducts his business. Jim is quick getting home, he doesn't bother going to a hospital. He can set his own nose, he's done it before. He knows there is going to be a fight.

"Broken nose, I need to set it, it's still fresh, I shouldn't need to rebreak it." He's on the way to the study where he keeps medical supplies.

That Violet loves Jim Moriarty cannot be argued. In the moments before he slinks into the study, she cups his face in her hands and assesses the damage with sympathy clear in her features. "Shite. What happened?"

Perhaps his blunt delivery of the news is proof he loves her too. He doesn't beat around the bush or keep the news from her. Or maybe, he's just an asshole.

Regardless, the sympathy melts from Violet's face. "You shot my brother?"

It's probably a combination of the two. The fact that Sherlock's brains are not smeared across his sofa is proof that Jim loves her. He had the chance to kill his greatest enemy and instead gave him a flesh wound, he had even aimed above the bone.

He watches the emotions ebb over her face.

"After he broke my nose. His shoulder, north of everything important. There's no point in lying to you about it"

"After you provoked him, I'm sure." Violet argues, and it's clear his excuse is not settling with her. "Why were you anywhere near Sherlock, anyway?"

"Just thought you'd catch a cuppa with your enemy? Despite the implication to the woman that you're marrying that you'd prefer to not expedite the "Final Problem"?" Why yes; she is using finger-quotes.
