I missed seeing two of my favorite comedians from my favorite comedy troupe performing live. One of them in particular is a performer I'd love to have in my own audience, someone with whom I suspect we share a wavelength, and someone I'd dearly enjoy taking out for drinks. At the very least, seeing him live would have been a personal thrill ( Read more... )

In general I can't stand my friends who have kids because that is all they are about. They change their FB profile pictures to photos of their kids. Their status updates are all about their kids. They have no lives, no interests, no anything that doesn't involve their kids.

But for some reason I read this entry anyway. And goddammit, sir, you best be writing all this into your next show, 'mkay? I would pay to see that shit. PAY, I TELL YOU.

Trust me, I very much do not want to be one of those parents, no matter how much all the other parents assure me that I WILL, resistance is futile and all that. Similarly, I actively wanted to avoid having my shows become all about my kids, because shit, we've all heard or read stuff by writers we've liked that goes downhill the second it becomes all about the wacky and endearing foibles of their innocent li'l offspring BLEEECH.

But since, as previously stated, resistance is futile, then your comment gives me hope that at least maybe I'll actually have something worthwhile to do with this new material. :)

I don't mind pics of the kids in the Christmas cards so long as the parents are in there WITH them!

Then you'll LOVE Maes Hughes!!

I kid, I kid.

Though in all seriousness I remember having similar thoughts when I saw my cousin's boy friend crying because she was leaving for holidays for a couple of weeks. I literally wanted to slap him and scream 'MAN UP YOU SISSY!!!' at his face.
