Nope, I would have to agree. I have a hard time choosing between the hug and the fries&burger moment as well. The hug is, well, a HUG, and I can watch them hugging all day long, especially if it is such an enthusiastic and clearly heart-felt one. Plus, Dean's little 'C'mere' just before they hug melts me into a puddle of goo. The moment with the food is so great because a) Sam anticipates Dean's needs before Dean does and b) it contrasts with the moment earlier in the cabin where Dean rejects Sam's offer of his home-cooked meal. Which, by the way, I think is the first time we actually saw Sam or Dean cook in the show - the moment in Something Wicked where Dean warms up the spaghettios notwithstanding.
Yeah. If there's a hug it just has to be included! I adored the "C'mere" too. So familiar and warm.

Hee... that was on my wish list for S8...domestic!boys. :)
I love that Sam was looking out for Dean during the episode - offering food, noticing his jitters etc. I'm wondering how much of that was guilt as well as concern.
Hee... that was on my wish list for S8...domestic!boys. :) Basically, Domestic!boys are on my wishlist for every episode. *g* I am still waiting for an 'A Day in the Life' type of episode, where we see the boys do mundane things for 40 minutes.
Definitely the hug and THE BURGER...I think Sam was a lot more aware of and concerned about how Dean was doing physically than in the past. That he cooked and offered Dean something to eat is a role reversal from Dean handing Sam a candy bar and a bottle of water and then looking at his hand in 7.02. Plus, there is just something about cooking for someone that shows care in a way that ordering the evening's pizza doesn't. It's a feeling of home or being settled. It also felt like if Sam wasn't getting him food or bringing it up (or sleep), Dean wouldn't even be thinking about it. That he realized Dean needed to eat something he probably really missed was a good observation on Sam's part. That he just ordered it without making Dean go through making a choice about it was even better. We've seen Sam in a caretaking role before like in Faith but there was still this undercurrent of Sam needing Dean to be ok to help him through whatever was going on in his life. We're watching Sam giving Dean his attention without being distracted

Oh I love everything you have written here. Food is always important in the show. It signifies things as much as say, the keys to the impala. The first thing Sam did when he emerged from the panic room re-souled was eat. I love the idea that Sam took about Dean having to thinking about making a choice. Also, he knows Dean so well that getting him a burger is a sure fire way to make him happy. It reminds me of the scene in "What Is..." when Carmen suggests they go an get a cheeseburger later. He's thinking..."how did I get so lucky". I'm sure he's thinking about the same about Sam in this little moment.
And yay the little brother "who me? wasn't me!" look is a classic.

Oh god. Yes please. And they could totally get away with it in this type of show. ANYTHING is possible. ;)
