I am both squeeful and nervous about the premiere. Mostly squeeful because HOMG! SHOW IS FINALLY BACK! How dare it go away for so long. Don't they know we have NEEDS!!
Oo! I love bardicvoice, but I thought she stopped writing reviews! Glad to see she's back! Totally have to check that link out!
I always subscribe to the Joss Whedon rule: Never give fans what they want, give them what they need. aka A GOOD STORY! But it also reminds me of something I stumbled on the other day, Neil Gaiman on 8 Rules of Writing: Remember: when people tell you something’s wrong or doesn’t work for them, they are almost always right. When they tell you exactly what they think is wrong and how to fix it, they are almost always wrong.
So I keep telling myself I have to adopt my old post-S5 mantra, 'Everything Else Is Cake'. :D Though I think I'm really just stuck on OMG WTFBBQ HOW IS IT S8?! AND ON WEDNESDAYS?? That will take me a while to get used to!
But yes, crossing fingers and toes and arms and legs that Carvers got a eighth rollercoaster ride planned for us all! *throws confetti!!*
HAHA, true! True! Although meta wise...well, we'll have to see if Carver ever does anything else with that Kripke meta bit or chooses to smudge it up with the new changes. ;D
I'm definitely Sam in that last gif, except I've got my hands over my eyes and am taking teeny tiny peeks at LJ and into fandom through my fingers as I desperately try to avoid any and all spoilers leading up to tomorrow.
Wow, you've managed to stay away from all spoilers for the season? That takes some initiative! Well done! I gave up a long time ago trying to avoid pre-premiere press, I get more spoilerphobey as the season goes, anything during sweeps I'm like *cover hands over eyes* about it all!
Sam's smile in your icon, melts my heart, one of my favorite things of S7 :)
I am mostly squeeful, alternating between going EEEEEE and then biting my nails and shivering. I'm away at a conference and dragging my colleagues to an SPN watching party tomorrow night. Should make for an interesting premiere, with me jumping down anyone's throat who dares to make too much noise. :)
I'm actually pretty excited to see how the writers -- and the boys -- handle the reunion and negotiating the what-you-did-without-me discussion. It could go SO right....or.... *goes back to biting nails*
I KNOW, right?! It's new stuff, and I can never wait to see what the show does with NEW STUFF! But then new stuff is also the potential to screw stuff up, so I'm just a batty nut vacillating between a whole range of emotions.
I listened to the new Mumford album last night though, and that basically narrowed my emotions into one: bawling my heart out. I think this is my new S8 theme song, after Loki's vid song, that is:

I did happen upon a great pre-review of the show. bardicvoice always writes great reviews. THIS has made me feel alls sorts of better about the spoilers that have come out.
I particularly love this:
My advice to fans (including me!) is always the same: don't assume things in advance, be aware of your own biases before accusing others, and give the writers time in which to build and develop their story - don't expect all the answers in the first five minutes, or even the first five episodes. If there were no mystery, where would the story have room to grow?
There has to be angst and mystery and to it keeps it interesting. And I keep telling myself that it's OKAY that Sam and Dean aren't going to be doing exactly what I want. There's no way the show can satisfy every single fan and if it even attempted to do that it would be AWFUL ( ... )
