Dear lazyweb,

I need somewhere in Birmingham that i can get my hair colooured. All of it. Preferably bright pink or red. Oh, and i want it done for my birthday, which is next weekend so that gives me only two Saturdays in which to achieve this.

Can anyone recommend a place?

I'm assuming that Bladerunners salon in the Oasis is no longer there - I was trying to find a phone number for them but not sure if they're gone or not - or else they'd be a good bet.

There were also some salons in Selly that used to use Fudge colourants - bright colours - and I'd expect they'd know what they were doing in terms of taking care of your hair.

But there must be some salons that will deal with bright colours - will ask around for you. No trendy places in Moseley for that kind of thing?

There are plenty of haridressers in Moseley but I'd like a recommendation though 'cos i don't trust hairdressers and y'know it's my hair, i'm kind of protective of it!

There's a hairdresser in the Custard Factory who a friend of a friend goes to. Don't know the name, but a quick G**gle gives us:
NITRA STYLE LTD, THE CUSTARD FACTORY, GIBB ST., BHAM,B9 4AA Tel: 0121-766 8855

Yvette had her hair coloured in peacock feather colours a coupla years ago by a hairdresser in Cofton Hackett. Send her a F***book message, I'm sure she'll share if she doesn't see this post. The colourist did a great job, but it doesn't 'alf make your hair brittle. Expect to lose a few inches of the old barnet, and wait a few months to recover from the bleaching.

Hmmm, Custard Fac, i could get someone to drop in and take a gander for me.

I know all about the brittle, it's been a long time since i bleached/coloured my hair but i remember the brittleness well :0)

I have nothing to add as I always dyed myself until I went blonde, which showed up the bits I'd missed.. But on brittleness, despite bleach-n-dyeing my hair for 7 years straight and a few years of black dye before that, mine's always been ok. Good conditioner, or a hair mask, works wonders - put it all over your hair when it's recently been nuked, and any other time that it feels dry, leave it to soak for a few minutes, et voila, non straw hair! :)

I'd go for red rather than pink. You will probably get away with bleaching to orange rather then blonde (although it will look vile as it washes out).

And don't wash your hair on the day of bleaching - open pores and strong bleach = considerable pain!
