I know that many of you may be busy with your normal duties as well as preparations for the coming winter, but if I may, I would like to take some time to hopefully begin a discussion about the information that I have collected thus far. It is more a matter of curiosity than anything else at the moment, but I feel it might be important in the ( Read more... )

Our kind is like that... "Iron that can go anywhere." It's because we are changed by magic.

That is in my world, though.

[She tilts her head, curious.] Your kind...?

Golems, or also artificial angels. We are created from iron, soul, and magic.

[She looks very intrigued by this.]

Then you are protected from the fae?

Circles in my world can be used to store energy or magicks. For some though, they're used to summon other beings into our world. A shame there are no warlocks here to explain it in more depth.

The book mentioned that a few circles may have been used for rituals of some sort, but otherwise it said little of magic. [She thinks about that information for a moment, trying to connect it to the dreams.] If beings from other worlds can be summoned through them, perhaps they can also be used in the opposite way, to travel to those worlds?

If they were the same as ones back home. And warlocks don't go around with stones in their pockets. It seems too convenient if they were to send people home.

Not home then, but to another world like this one, populated by fae. [That's the indication she got from the dream anyway.] It would explain why I felt it was necessary to try to take the iron with me in the dream.

[Oh hey, she's already seen your heroism at work. She can rely on you!]

I would certainly appreciate your help. My other concern is learning more about the stone circles. Have you seen them up close?

Can't say I have.

In that case, if you ever do have the opportunity, please let me know. I'd like to collect observations from as many people as possible.

[Oh, this lady has information. We are interested in information.]

You see to have your hands on some value piece of knowledge! I would like to learn about it, if possible.

[Ah, what manner of creature are you? You're adorable!]

Of course, I am more than willing to share what I have learned already, though there is not much yet. Is there anything specific you would like to know?

[Yes, keep seeing us as adorable and we won't have any problems. You, on the other hand...]

I am mostly interested in the Fairy Queen, but any other sort of information about the mechanics in this place would be useful.

[She flips through the book a little bit, to see what she's written down.]

I met the Fae Queen once in the village square. Though we spoke little, she seemed kind and offered gifts from the tree folk for our aid in repairs to the forest. I have seen her only once more, this time in a dream.

I have heard her voice other times though, at the conclusion of some of our stranger experiences. But even after all this, her true nature remains a mystery to me. I have yet to see her treat us with cruelty, but I do not doubt that she has the power to do so.

It isn't regular iron, I can tell you that. [Guess who got stuck to the Troupe rocks for a couple of hours?]

I'll let you know anything I can find out once I get around that particular problem.

Oh, you've tried to enter the circle with iron? [Please tell her what it was like. She'd like to add your observation to her notes :)]

The "iron that can go anywhere" is likely to be in the village. I've suggested that others start searching there. [You know, if you'd like to help them out. Hint hint.]

Yeah, stone circles aren't too unusual in Gielnor. I tried going for the center, but my rings got stuck.

I'll try looking around the forge. Don't see how iron can be different from any other iron bit, unless it's magnetized, though.

[Iron rings cannot go inside, check.] Perhaps it's one that has been blessed with special powers. It might have markings on it to suggest the workings of a spell. [That's the only thing she can think of that can set it apart.]

A friend has suggested that we try using an iron bell. Have you seen one in the village?
