Dear all
Just thought I'd drop you all a line to to catch up.
It's Coriolanus' press night tonight. I don't know if you have seen Coriolanus yet but it's marvellous and I think Dominic Dromgoole has made a great start!!
I've been "googling" and have some gen on what other Globe favourites have been
doing. Thought I'd pass the gossip along!
Most recently of course, is Mark Rylance's Best Actor BAFTA for "the Government Inspector." on tv. Hooray and well done, Mark!!
Another actor nominated for a Best Actor award in the Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland (for the 2nd year running!) is Liam Brennan for his performance as "Odin von Horvath" in "Tales from Hollywood" at Perth Theatre earlier this Spring. Went to see this and he was really excellent. (though I think he should have won it last year for "Iago" :-)) Hopefully this will be his year!! ... Everything's crossed for him anyway! (

Michael Brown is "Lucentio" in "Taming of the Shrew" at Bristol Old Vic which opened last week (playing a Shakespearean bloke at last! I bet he's pleased!).
Edward Hogg is to be at the Royal Court in the new Tom Stoppard with Rufus Sewell and directed by Trevor Nunn;

As some of you know, we've got some returnees at the Globe too!
Colin Hurley is now an actor-practitioner at The Globe.
Sam Alexander (Young Shepherd in Winter's Tale) is back at Globe as is David Sturzaker (Florizel & Claudio), in Titus Andronicus. Tom Padden (Winter's Tale)is in that too and so is Geraldine Alexander (Midsummer Night's Dream in 2002)
John Dougal (Pompey in Measure) is in Coriolanus as a fabulously sinister Brutus.
Going over to the "Opposition"?: (:-) )
Roger Watkins (Winter's Tale & Measure for Measure), Patrice Naimbama and Matt Costain from "Pericles", Hannah Barrie and Ann Ogbomo from the all female "Much Ado About Nothing", are all with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford doing the History tetralogies as part of the Complete Works festival. (
http://www.rsc.org.uk/home/completeworks.aspx). Bette Bourne (Nurse in Romeo & Juliet) and Mariah Gale (Hero in Much Ado) are also in Stratford with the RSC
Peter Shorey is at the Theatre by the Lake in Keswick in the Lake District. They are doing several plays and I'm not sure which ones he's in yet! (www.theatrebythelake.co.uk)
Do give me a shout if you know where other friends are and see you soon. I reckon I should start a sort of "Globe Friendsreunited" club!!
Finally, I know you're not supposed to say "good luck" to actors but all the best to Dominic, and the Coriolanus company for tonight!
