Why? Why is a period like this? I feel like I am drowning. I'm angry, I want to cry, I'm restless and bored, I want to break things. Ugh. Just ugh.

Also there's the pain. There's a lot of pain that no meds seem to attend to.

As difficult as it is (and feel free to slap this man senseless for his male ignorance), in my own personal experience watching it over the years, the alternative is not as beautiful as the burden. Relish the simple joy in knowing what it means you're still capable of doing and that you still have so much further to go. There will be a time when you miss it.
