NEW SUPERHERO TEAMS UP WITH VIGILANTE

In a city known for its loner vigilantes, not only has a new hero made her appearance, but forged a partnership. The metahuman now known as “Power Girl” exploded onto the scene of a fire on Wednesday in the company of Huntress, a less-known heroine with former ties to masks such as Batman and the late Question. The massive fire of Wednesday night eventually consumed a low-rent apartment building and a large fire truck, which the blonde metahuman deposited in the river to contain the explosion of the truck’s full gas tank.

The vigilante known as Huntress, a Gotham City native daughter, opted for more conventional heroics, saving three trapped residents and one cat from the collapsing inferno. This is the first time since Poison Ivy’s mid-January rampage that the scantily-clad crime fighter has been seen so publicly, usually preferring to fight small-time criminals in the shadows and chip away at the every-day crime that some Gothamites complain is ignored by the more “illustrious” heros.

At first, not much was known about the busty heroine, but eyewitness accounts and official word from various Gotham authorities have confirmed that Power Girl is not a hoax or a villain. She can be identified by a white one-piece with a large gap on the chest, blue boots and gloves, and a red cape.

When asked about the newcomer, Batwoman said, “it's always nice to have help from someone with special powers.” Batman was unavailable for comment.
