ice-cream withdrawl? yeah, i know the feeling. when you next visit melbourne, i'll have to treat you to some yarra valley ice-cream....i mean, it really is creamy! i've also found this green tea ice-cream which is also rather swish. the only mass produced ice-cream that comes even close is the bulla ice-cream...the cookies and cream flavour is quite special. so is their vanilla. oh, and avoid any of the low-fat rubbish.

however, if you've got a few dollars spare, get an ice-cream maker. igac and his significant other bought one for christmas....$40 and it makes wonderful creamy ice-cream (especially when one splashes out and buys haigh's cooking chocolate).

I've had an icecream maker for many years and spent many a summer making my own flavours. I think it must be pulled again soon and maybe I can set up an icecream stall outside my house.

My favourite icecream flavour at the moment is raspberry and lemon!

Oh I forget that I don't write everything in my journal. Unfortunately my plans for a February trip fell through due to a number of reasons (long story) but I am planning to hang in your hood at the end of this year (because I have a longer break then) and jaunt around in Japan in July. I was looking forward to meeting you though! I'll send you something to your new postal address soon. xJo

WEIRD! 'Australian' gelato (a la Pitt St, Sydney) has opened up in the East Village opposite my favourite creperie... it looks SO UGLY and I fear it is giving us all a very bad name! With a gelateria that UGLY it doesn't matter that it tastes good.

It IS ugly but so very good! Maybe you can offer them some renovation tips?

Oh, I am buying GA tickets for the B-52's today. Did you want me to get one for you to?

I did too and panicked when Wu cruelly told me they were sold out. They're $69.90 for GA. Not sure about reserved seating though!

Super Bowl Sunday? Honey, you know I read that as congee in Chinatown on Sunday.
