[House is trying so hard to say something snippy about the flood or the fact that Martha had effectively ruined his fun the other night, but he can't. In fact, when he talks, it comes out like he's been holding the truth in and it's just exploded from his mouth.]

Thank you for your concern.

[The tone is even sincere. House huffs and turns off the feed.]

Oh god, you are affected then.

Anything I can do?

[His teeth are gritted, but niceness escapes amidst a pleasant tone, no matter what he does.]

If you by any chance had a gun to spare, that might help. Don't go to any trouble, though...

'Friad I don't believe in guns, House. Perhaps a gag or some such thing?

Oh, bite me.

[GODDAMN, THE TONE WAS ALL PLEASANTRIES AND SILLY SUNDAY AFTERNOON JOSHING. House was going to die during this flood. He just was.]

I can only assume that you meant that in the nicest way.

Oh, of course... [Complete apologetic sincerity. House rolls his eyes. It's not so bad with Martha, but if he sees Snape he's going to nice him upside his lovely pink moist and slightly special head.]

((ooc - ...could not resist ABOFL references in narrative. It amused me in light of the flood.))

[Martha grinned to him.]

Good luck, Doctor House and remember counting to ten is your friend.
