RULES

The rules of the game. Please read these before applying.

ONE: While the mods are pretty damn awesome, we're not claiming to know everything ( most of the time, anyway ). Because of this, if you intend to apply for a character from an obscure series, a new series, or just one that people have forgotten existed, it might take us a bit to review your app. This is nothing personal, of course, but we still would like to be fair to everyone, in the matters of OOC vs. IC for any one character. If you're able to provide us with any additional information attached with your app ( a wiki link, for example? ), it will greatly help expedite the process. If you're just plain unsure if anyone even knows the series you're apping for, feel free to contact a mod!

TWO: Here we encourage interaction between characters. Storylines are meant to encompass all characters, and the story here is meant to drive your character to interact with as many people as possible. Do not be afraid to approach characters! Many times in a multi-fandom RPG, characters tend to stick with one another by canon, and excluding storylines can develop from this. We encourage sub-plots and mini-plots, but the main focus should be the initial storyline. That is why you are here!

THREE: Absolutely no drama whatsoever. You don't like the person who plays a certain character? Too bad. Tolerate them or just don't interact with them at all. If you have a real problem with someone, tell a mod and don't be an hero. If you decide to be a faggot and start shit with players, you will get ONE WARNING. That's all. After that, bye-bye. On this vein, if you're found to be tattle-tale-ing on players based on hearsay and not actual experiences you've had yourself ( i.e.: if your buddy is having a problem with x character or x player and you want to stick up for them ), we will kick you out of the game. Simple as that. So, if you intend to contact a mod about a problem, please make sure it's from YOUR perspective, not "my friend said so-and-so was this-and-that."

FOUR: No random PWP. That is to say, no characters who have had no past interaction or relationship are permitted to have random smut logs. Outside of the game, that's your own business. Just no in-game logs proclaiming that these two HAWT CHARACTERS are DOING IT OMGZ. That's gay and GTFO MY INTERNETS. There is only ONE loop-hole to this rule and that is if the sex is propositioned in a prostitution-type situation. That is, money/something of value exchanged for sexual acts.

FIVE: If you have an idea for a storyline or log, discuss it with all characters you want involved before just .. doing it. NPCing is all right, to an extent ( i.e.: NPCing random humans/robots ), but if your character plans to kill any of these NPCs or otherwise harm them, don't think they'll get away with it. The Barrier, though malfunctioning, still collects information on every inhabitant of Jakob City and the Police Force will find out about it eventually. :) On this vein, no God-moding, no killing off characters unless first discussed with the character's player, no OMG FIXING THE BROKEN BARRIER BECAUSE YOUR CHARACTER IS SO GOOD AT EVERYTHING THEY CAN JUST MAGICALLY FIX IT WHENEVER THEY SEE CONVENIENT FOR THEMSELVES. No. GTFO MY INTERNETS.

SIX: Do NOT add abilities to your character after you have submitted your application. If your character wishes to modify themselves in any way ( upgrades, prosthetic limbs, etc. ), ask a mod first. More often than not, we'll approve it, so long as it isn't something totally gay.

SEVEN: Your character is to post to their journal every two weeks and a log is preferred at least every once in a while. We're not too anal about logging, as we know some people are not entirely comfortable with it, but any type is acceptable, if it makes it easier. As in, you can log in AIM or whatever and then post it onto the logging community or whatever. Here is the posting format:

CHARACTERS: all characters involved. can be a single character or several characters. If you want the log to be open for any character to reply, just put something like "my character and anyone else" or whatever.
TIME: about what time the log takes place. Seems stupid, but certain barriers will open and close depending on the time of day.
LOCATION: what sector or area the log takes place in.
RATING: if this log was a movie, what rating would it have?
WARNINGS: list things like violence, language or other things someone might get offended over.
SUMMARY: a brief summary of what's expected to happen in this log.

Don't forget to put it behind an !

We will have random activity checks, and if your character fails, they will be cut. If this happens, you are welcome to reapply for them once. If you are cut again, you will not be allowed to reapply until after about two weeks, to allow other players to have a chance to pick up the character instead.

EIGHT: Prove you have read these rules. Answer the last question in the application with user was banned for this post, in all caps and in parentheses. If you fail to answer it, well, you just fail.

NINE: You character can be virally infected! If you are against this, please make note of it in your application.

TEN: Jakob City has many little events and on-going changes, what with the Barrier's malfunctioning. Keep tabs on the message board to see if anything has changed or intends to change.

ELEVEN: In the world of Mechadeus, there is no magic. None. Zip. Zilch. Does your character cast magic in canon? They don't here. If they are a character that is based entirely on magic (like a genie or something), they will probably need to be heavily modified. Any questions about this should be directed to the mods.

TWELVE: Have fun and don't be afraid! If you have suggestions, questions or if you'd just like to say something utterly random, feel free to e-mail the mods at mechadeusmods at gmail dot com. We're not as scary as we seem! :)
