L’Arc~En~Ciel in Manila?
For those who do not know, L’Arc~en~Ciel or Laruku is a j-rock [Japanese rock] band that has been around for more than two decades already. Its members are Hyde, Tetsuya, Ken and Yukihiro. Twenty years and twenty albums later, Laruku is still very hot and happening. Just imagine how many fans it has accumulated from various age groups!
From March to May, the band has been on their 2012 World Tour, bringing their music to cities in different parts of the world. The cities which were fortunate enough to be included in the tour were:
- Hong Kong
- Bangkok
- Shanghai
- Taipei
- New York
- London
- Paris
- Singapore
- Jakarta
- Seoul
- Yokohama
- Osaka
- Tokyo
- Honolulu
Sadly, the Philippines has not been part of the tours yet in L’Arc~en~Ciel’s 20 years of existence. A huge amount of effort to make the band come to the Philippines have been made in July, when the Facebook group L’Arc~en~Ciel Pilipinas spread the link where Filipinos can vote for Manila as one of the destinations in Laruku’s next world tour. Despite the heavy traffic experienced by the site, I made sure I gave my vote and encouraged others to do so as well. Hopefully, the efforts of its Philippine fan base will be enough to include Manila in the next world tour.
