Though Jahad was a very schooled and clever healer in his own right, he had never heard of earshrooms before, and rightfully so. It was a phenomenon unique to the bog, the old woman explained as she pointed around her small garden for what she needed. He helped her gather the small plants and herps she desired and even set to grinding it all to paste while she spoke of the strange nuances of Blackfoot. When it was made, Donovan suffered fingers in his ear again and became even more irritable when the paste clogged up his ears and made everything silent. He had to shout to hear himself, and everybody found that unpleasant. To remedy that, the old woman made a brew that set the boy to sleep, and for the first time in days, the travelers had themselves a very nice and restful evening ( ... )
