Arthur squared off against his father, matching the older man's intense stare with his own. Arthur loved his father but this time the man had gone too far, accusing Merlin of using magic and ordering his execution.

She finally found her voice. "What in the world is going on?" she snapped.

"Oh think that it does, father," Arthur said, taking a step closer to Uther and clenching his fists. "She's lost as much as anyone because of your ridiculous obsession. It's time this ended. The law is absurd and unjust, you're the only one that can't see this."

"Arthur's right," she said, moving to stand by his side. "The crueler you are, the more enemies you will make. How can you protect Camelot when all of Camelot is against you? You must see reason!"

"How dare you say such things," Uther said. "All I have done is for the benefit of Camelot. Everything I have given is for her people and her safety."
"You've given up nothing!" Arthur countered. "It's always others who pay the price! I'm begging you father, stop before it's too late, before all Camelot is known for is the intolerance of her king."
"Watch your tongue," Arthur's father snarled. "It speaks dangerously close to treason."

She found herself watching intently, but knowing that she shouldn't interrupt. This was a side of him she never knew, and one she wished she would never have to deal with. It held too much gravity than she thought she could handle. So she kept hidden, and wished that she would find herself in another dream before he found her.]
