Kong

Watched the fireworks and then watched Peter Jackson's King Kong, which I didn't bother seeing in the theatres because I didn't feel like it. I cried! Everything in the middle was totally fucking boring.

YES! I fell asleep in the theatre during that part. I totally was enjoying myself and then I conked out. I woke up just in time for the end.

Then, my hubby got it on DVD and the same thing happened.

I don't think I was meant to see the middle part.

I mean, I get the fact that the whole movie was some metatextual commentary on MOVIES ZOMG, and that all the non-stop action in the middle was intended to be ironic, but way to make your point, Peter Jackson - it took ya a freakin hour to do!

You're not missing much. Just a bunch of lame dinosaurs and even lamer plastic bugs - the film really loses its potential for rewatching because of that middle. I was vaguely thinking of turning it on while I did a few things around the house, but then realized I'd have to endure that middle bit again and decided against it. BOOOOO!

There were dinos in the original... just not a solid freaking hour of them.

Oh no! The dinosaurs are back! Start running and shooting again! For an hour!
