Coconuts! Lovely, fragrant coconuts!

Ever since I got my first bottle of coconut perfume oil from Hawaii from my mum when I was about 15, I’ve loved coconut in fragrance.

The coconut industry is really big in the Philippines and yes, I do recall my mother telling me stories about having to polish the floors with half shells!

My father actually told me how to get coconut oil/creme by boiling the flesh, and letting the scum come up to the surface except that it isn't scum as such, you can gather it and it's very creamy. The joys of having islander parents!

Oh, and how good virgin coconut oil is for the skin and hair! Just slather it on. I bought 2 bottles while last in the Philippines and you can - dare I admit this - actually eat it out of the bottle... it solidifies in cooler weather. That is when I feel coconut is at its most 'savoury'. :)

Wow, that is very interesting. One day I will buy myself a fresh coconut!

Re the Virgin Coconut oil, I've really been into this lately, reading about how good it is for you, externally and internally! I got an amazing one from LaDiDaSpa and eating out of the bottle is exactly what I did! :0 As well as using it as a moisturiser. I also got the most amazing Monoi oil from there too. I can't get enough of it!!
