Poll and Miscellany

Three things, almost entirely content free. (But one of them is a poll! There will be clicking, and that's always fun, right?)

I swear I will have actual content in this LJ again. Eventually. In the meantime -
  1. Remember the poll? Um, this one? Thanks to everyone who took it, by the way, and I am slowly working my way through the comments, because ( Read more... )

Um, I think there's one point where she switches pronouns in this song, but for the most part she doesn't

Thank you! Man, I should totally have shared my love with my friends list before now, because y'all turn out to be an excellent source of genderswapped songs.

Upon reflection, I should not be surprised. The genderswap is a very fannish kind of song, isn't it?

Yay! Thank you!

Also, I will see your woobie-fu icon and raise you one "emotion is just a word in the dictionary" icon. I believe we have achieved a near-perfect balance of emo and anti-emo. Of course, if our icons come too close together, they will obliterate this post, but we love to live on the razor's edge, right?

Do you have the Me First and the Gimme Gimme's cover of 'Nothing Compares' or Rufus Wainwright singing 'Art Teacher'? Let me know and I'll upload it for you. Someday you need to do a genderswapped song post and share the wealth!

I ran across the fan archetypes poll in malnpudl's journal and thought it was cool, so I decided to run it in mine. The entry is here: http://crimsonquills.livejournal.com/396830.html

Good luck with the meta!

Thank you! (Also, wow. malnpudl is the best pimp ever. I should give her a cookie or something. An imaginary cookie, maybe.)

Did you take the poll here? Because I'll be using that for comparison purposes, so if you didn't and you decide to now, you too will be in line for an imaginary cookie. (Another one, since obviously you'd get one for doing the poll, too.)

You've probably already gotten my rambling explanatory comment on the other poll, but I just wanted to comment here, too, just in case, to let you know that I went and took it.

And wasn't that just a horrible sentence? *g*

My poll.

I have decided that I am a hydra: cut off a fandom and three more spring up in its place. This is the best metaphor I can think of to address the fact that I hang onto some fandoms forever and then some of them do die. Also that I end up with a lot of them.

Thank you!

I really, really like the hydra archetype, and it works for you much better than magpie, which is what I called you. (Well. It seemed like the best fit. But I agonized over it.)

Magpie ia also a... reasonable fit. It's just that usually that keeping stuff back in the nest in not immediately visible to everyone else. Just because I still read a fandom, say, doesn't mean I talk about it or rec what I've been reading, etc.
