These aren't icky pairings, or false pairings. They're ones I never even considered, yet that somehow work, at least within the context of one story. Obviously, surprising pairings are far more common in fandoms with lots of characters, so these ones come from Harry Potter and comic books.

I do love your descriptive recommendations, and I'm going to be friending you for them; however, as a member of the Harry Potter fandom, I can't help doing a Ctrl+F to find HP fics on your LJ. ;) Might I, um, recommend my recs site whenever you're in the mood for a quick HP read? It might save you trawling through lots of LJs. :)
Um. Hope I'm not being presumptuous! *scuffs shoe shyly*

Many thanks for suggesting your recs site. I hadn't seen it before. And I'm especially glad to make its acquaintance because it's HP; I seem to be more prone to bad fic experiences in that fandom than in most of the others, and yet there's also such great stuff in HP that I can't stop reading it. I foresee your site will be distracting me from my daily rounds for quite some time.

I quite agree with you about HP--it's such a vast fandom, and has such a variety of writing in it, from the good to the bad to the downright ugly. That's why recs sites come in handy; even if you find my tastes different to your own, you can always look in the links section of my site for a whole lot of other recommendation sites. If you have limited time in this fandom, I suggest that you navigate it based heavily on these. That way, the hardcore HP fans can do the trawling through the major archives and bring you the cream of the crop. :D
Thank you again!
