So, ok. It's a really, really good story - one that manages to capture a lot of the original author's tone and characterization. I saw Jane and Bran together, myself, but not only is the story plausable, but it makes me go "awww, it's a good thing." It also managed to make me want to read The Dark is Rising againrightnow, so it was doing a lot of things right, even for this not-particularly-a-fan-of-slash person. I was prepared to be oogied at the idea of the two of them hooking up, but it just goes to show that good writing conquers all...

I'm feeling quite pleased. I mean, it did occur to me that maybe I just liked the story because I was warped. But I was right! Right-thinking people can like Will/Bran slash if it's as well written as "Summer's Men!"

Although, come to think of it, someone will have to find Kest and make sure she never uses this power for evil.

Hi! Been much enjoying wandering around your recs, though for my life I can't remember whose link I followed here. I'm not sure how much you bother with keeping links current (it seems like it'd be a pretty monumental task) but it appears the current location of The Galactic Miscellany is here: http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/archive/2/thegalactic.html .

And now I'll continue my rec perusing -- I love your summaries, by the way, helpful and amusing both. Thanks for hours of entertainment. :)

I adore your recs, so I decided to start right back at the beginning and find some good stories that I missed the first time around. There are all these fandoms that I know now that I didn't the first time I read these recs!

Just wanted to let you know that the link for Let It Snow is dead -- I found a copy of it at: http://louiselux.livejournal.com/121436.html
