Crichton: raped, died, died, died, involuntary brain surgery/loss of speech, mind-raped, innumerable instances of being beaten up, nearly starved, chased all over the galaxy, turned to stone and decapitated... the list is damn-near endless.
Although I think Daniel Jackson still wins for number of canonical deaths.
I just want to note that "Semi-Canonical Nazis" would be an excellent band name.
And, wow, Criminal Minds - see, this is why I need people to tell me what to put in the poll. I know nothing of the fandom, not even the names of the characters.
I know there are others, but I can't think of them right now. I'm overloaded on color and texture and stuff from the knitting expo I spent today immured in.
I've been knitting for so long that I have ... more yarn than I could ever use already. At this point, I buy yarn so that the yarn I already own can have new friends.
I do knit, though, so at least some of it gets made into things.
*blush* I have a hard time not buying fiber to spin, though; I've been resisting learning how to spin on a wheel for years and years... Maybe when I'm done with nursing school I'll let myself develop a new hobby.
I do some drop spindling, now. I can't wait to do more.

Crichton from Farscape
Chuck from Chuck
And considering the bad ending for two out of three (or four), I'm a little concerned about Chuck's future prospects.

Second thought: Doyle, The Professionals.
Third thought: Spencer Reid, Criminal Minds.

Gambit (Remy LeBeau) from X-Men comics
The Middleman from The Middleman
...I do not expect to see a lot of women showing up in this poll.

you know, me neither - and that is kind of an interesting thought right there.

I was just thinking that too. I can't think of any I would even consider for the role.

And HP is, like, the fandom of woobies. Sooooo many characters qualify; it gets a special gold medal.
