Eight Days of Happiness: Metafic

May 10, 2009 22:18

It's the last day of happiness! Not that I don't plan to be happy tomorrow, but I probably won't be posting about it. The meme is done.

Here's what I learned: man, I don't have time to post every day. If you posted this week, I almost certainly missed it, because it was all I could do to get these up and reply to a few comments. (I will honestly ( Read more... )

Wow, you wrote these each day? When you started posting I figured that you'd written the posts in advance (in the space of two months or so!). I applaud your persistence! I've been so busy that I've barely had time to read them, let alone post something of my own.

Anyway, thanks so much for these recs! They've made me happy too. I can't wait to see the vids you recced -- they sound so good -- and as always, you make me want to read fics in fandoms I've never even heard of (or at least know very little about). Plus, and this is a big plus, you let me know there's a Merlin fic by astolat I hadn't read. With fairies. I don't know how I could have missed it or forgotten about it, but I'm reading it now and I love it.

Your eight days of happiness have made me happy. *g* I loved the wiki history on, and I am strangely intrigued by this rec set. *opens in new tabs*

Also. Having not yet read Gus Goes for the Gold Star, I suspect, but cannot be 100% sure, that Ben Sisko, is Captain Benjamin Sisko of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

[And I am utterly horrified this this is the closest thing I have to s Star Trek icon.]

Ben Sisko is /awesome/. Yeah, he's Captain of the DS:9 space-station. Where the chief security officer is a shape-shifter who must periodically turn into porridge to - I don't know, retain a smooth consistancy? or something? Oh hey, have I tried to make you read that fic about his son Jake Sisko and the Vulcan operatic castrati? It's epic, I wave it at everyone sooner or later. 's the Jeu Parti series here (scroll down).

(and, I went 'hee' at the Trek reference, so I think you got it right?)

Every year I start Yuletide bright and early. I have three-quarters of my story done in the first week, ready to post...any time now. Soon. Real soon. As soon as I finish that last scene. But definitely before the gold star deadline. For sure. Oh, wait, that deadline was yesterday, wasn't it? Oh, well, I'll finish it this weekend. Really. But what's the hurry, there's still a month before the real deadline. Or a week, at least....

Consistently I manage to get my story in three days before the real deadline. Which isn't bad, but... The funny thing is that I then often manage to write another story or two in the remaining three days as pinch hits!

Unless they got into a vicious argument over Horde v. Alliance, I mean.

DUDE, their is only one right side in that argument and it is Horde. Anyone who says otherwise is dead to me.
