People tend to compare him to David Tennant. It's inevitable, since Tennant played the Doctor right before Matt, but I've come to realize that comparing Matt Smith to David Tennant is like comparing Jun to Ohno: You can't, and you shouldn't. What you should do is love them both

Also if you want to start watching Doctor Who, you should probably start from the 9th doctor, 2005. If you start from this doctor there's a lot of background you will be missing.

So... it's how the series works. The Doctor isn't a human, he's an alien. And when a human would die, instead he "regenerates", he gets a new body (meaning a new actor plays him). So yeah, he's like 900 years old at this point. When I say __th doctor, I mean how many times he's regenerated. So this is the 11th actor to play The Doctor, so he's the 11th doctor.

Yay! Another Doctor Who fan! ^^
I do like Matt but I also miss David (I think a lot of fans do)
I haven't seen the second half of the current series yet, but have seen the rest of the episodes with Matt. I do like the fact though that both David and Matt have their own quirks and are loved for different reasons ^^
(let's all hope that Matt doesn't get his hands on another fez ^^;;)

Oh you should DEFINITELY watch the rest of series 6 ASAP. It's as good as ever.

And the fez was awesome in it's horribleness. I would love for it to make an appearance now and then, just for River to kill it or something.
