In any case, boiling and condesing'll solve most problems, but it's a bit slow and you could lose a lot of water.

Uh-huh! It's a little like a sixth sense for Atlanteans, I guess. If we couldn't tell what water was toxic and which was inhabitable, we probably wouldn't have been able to survive this long. Now and days the elders use technology and magic, but I think I'm a little more attuned to that sense than they are. They didn't have to live out on the reef.
