i just noticed that you mentioned joy street.

suzan is my friend blue's mom. she's a very cool, very terrific woman, a great filmmaker, and her son is made up of similar qualities.

five favorite pre-code, please? jinxmalone March 10 2015, 21:24:15 UTC
i can't lie, there are a few films on here that are actively killing me to death, but i'm a judgey cunt when it comes to movies in a ridiculous, snobby fashion.

so pre-codes will help me out.

2. The Passion of Joan of Arc (Dreyer, 1928)
3. Within Our Gates (Micheaux, 1920)
4. Sunrise (Murnau, 1927)

this is tough for me because technically none of these are what i would consider pre-code in the traditional definition, at all. however, they're also all great films.

i'll give you a yes, but i want you to watch blonde crazy and footlight parade, please. :)

I'll def check them out.

Also, I'm curious what your definition of pre-code is, because my understanding was that it was stuff pre-1930. Maybe the stupid teens on the internet have been fucking with the wikipedia entry on this subject.
