i believe there were "dumplings" last
year on this list and similarly i think
that all the good movies that came out
this year came out last year actually.

A quick glance through my own personal list of quote-unquote favorites reveals that you are correct: 6 of 10 are not from 2005. And, in a better year, two of the remaining four would not be anywhere near a list of my favorite movies.

Jesus. Bad year for film. I can't even play, since I don't think any of those films are great. I loved The Aristocrats and Enron..., but I thought they looked like shit and were horribly edited.

Still haven't seen 3-Iron or The World. Out of the rest of that list (and the films others have added), I only loved Kung Fu Hustle.

Well, aside from Mario, I don't think anybody's list is anything close to an actual representation of their favorite movies of the year.

I am not in flickyoucrew, and I only saw about 10 new movies this year as well. is spot-on right about 2046, and the same applies to Howl's Moving Castle, though I liked it a bit more in retrospect.

Turtles Can Fly and Kung Fu Hustle were my favorites, followed by the two above, with Broken Flowers in fifth, mostly for a few choice scenes. Really want to see Grizzly Man, 3-Iron, Flow, & Enron.
