Is anyone still around here for discussion and such? I just got back from an advance watch of "Days of Future Past" and am willing to answer questions if anyone's like me and kind of likes spoilers. Or, you know, if anyone else has gotten to see it and would like to discuss ( Read more... )

I'm hoping to see it in the next few days, I will gladly come back then, but I'm hoping to be as unspoiled as possible going into it!

So I have THOUGHTS and FEELINGS, but first of all, a question for a kink meme fill I'm trying to write; does the serum actually take away powers?

Hank is still able to hold the door against Logan; Logan even comments on it, which suggests to me that the serum is only disguising his blueness and not actually affecting his powers. The serum Charles is taking has been altered to heal his spine and legs, which is not its' function, hence blocking his powers. I think in the form Hank is using it it's just cosmetic. Opinion please? It's really important to the fic! And I will come back and talk about my THOUGHTS and FEELINGS when it's not late at night. :D

I think that one of the attractions of fanfic is that you can make your own rules based on what you watch. So you'll have to decide that for yourself. :-D

If I hadn't been so tired and lame tonight we would've gone again. We will likely go back Saturday though.

Wow, is X-Men: DOFP the perfect superhero movie, or is it the perfect superhero movie? I don't know where to start! So, I'll start with whatbI liked best: the relationship b/w Charles and Raven. He learned not to try and control her, but to trust her. I think that really paid off dramatically. What did you like best?

Just came across this in my mail ...

I do think Raven was a better character in this one, but I like women who either make their own decisions or there's a good reason for them following someone else's.

This movie is a lot about what Charles has lost - control, power, influence - and you can see him gaining some humility that comes across better in his older self than in his 1960s version.

My favorite bit for the 'shipper in me was Erik tilting the plane and sending Charles flat on his back having to listen to his tirade after their argument; there's something about the supine pose and their attitudes that is just really fic-worthy.

The thing I didn't expect to like, and really did, was the scenes with Quicksilver. In absence of Spider-Man being available to 20th Century or Marvel Studios, he nicely fills the voice of the smartass teenager for some comic relief. Plus, I like Evan Peters from "American Horror Story" already.
