Done today:
5 loads of laundry washed, 4 dried (and currently working on load 6/5)
Dishwasher loaded and run.
4 trips to the dumpster, returning with a piece or two of the new bookshelves. (because, believe me master_chatnoir, there is no way in hell we're getting those boxes up my back stairs - they won't make that narrow turn, one long board at a time is ( Read more... )

You have no idea what state my house is in that I've finally gotten to the point where I couldn't handle it anymore. Ask master_chatnoir, it's very, very sad here. I got half-way through the kitchen today. I have the rest of the kitchen, the bathroom (though, that really won't take too long), the hall, the living room and the bedroom. I'm looking at a few weeks of days like this before I can say I'm 'done'.

The hell of housework is that you are never "done." You wash dishes, and then you use them again. You make the bed, and then you sleep in it. You take out the garbage, and then you make more. You do the laundry, and then you wear the clothes. It never goes away.

Housework is the human hamster wheel.

Actually, I was stupid enough to try to lug my bookcase upstairs, by myself, all at once. I got up the first half flight, the first full flight, and half way up the last flight before giving up and taking the pieces out (after a short break for a coronary). It was so much easier that way, I could have smacked myself for being too lazy to do it in the first place. Maybe we'll get lucky and your helper dudes will show up again? Nah, I'll just wear lots of deodorant. ;P

You're really in a grove. It must be Ikea bc last Sat., I put together the bookshelf and all the boxes and labelled everything and re-sorted. And today, I am doing more re-organizing - making my storage boxes easier to find stuff in and I totally overhauled the laundry room storage. Wheee!!!

Well, for obvious reasons, today is the bedroom. The ferrets - actually Gaia has trashed the bedroom something fierce.

And when I mean the boxes won't make it, I mean *physically* they won't fit. You have to angle and reangle and tilt and whatnot withone board at a time, if it were any wider it simply wouldn't happen.
