A remedy I tried once that worked pretty well was pumpkin.

What do you consider ferret crack? My frets liked ferret vite universally, but the one true crazy making crack seemed to be dried papaya. We decided it was too sugary and didn't give it anymore, but there was moping.

ETA - I tried pumpkin too for pushing out dumbassery to the other end after reading about it on the net. It worked pretty well.

The only problem with me using pumpkin is that while it may get things to come out his back end, it would make things come up my front end. I can't do the smell of pumpkin stuff.

As for 'crack', I was talking about Ferretone. 'Tone is the be all and end all for my ferrets.

I figured if he really, really didn't manage the lube, I'd get out the chicken baby food and Metamucil powder that's worked for the "OMG RUN TO THE VET" impactions we've had before. :)

I ever tell you about trying to feed cottage cheese to mine? In the end, the ferret won. I have never seen an animal go to such lengths to not eat something, not even to clean it off himself.

Okay, this just begs the question of WHY it was so imperative to get a ferret to eat cottage cheese at all.

Pooka had been ill and lost weight; the vet thought it would bulk him up a bit.

Even when I dipped his nose in it, he rubbed his face clean on a towel.
