Breakout and Pitfall were my childhood games of joy. Did you do Pitfall forward or backwards, where it was easier to jump on the crocodiles' heads?

I had a text adventure "Star Trek: Kobiashi Maru", Oregon Trail, some kind of "Hobbit-esque" text adventure, and Lode Runner. My dad was big into Castle Wolfenstein, but that didn't do much for me.

My dad was really good at Pitfall too. He stopped playing it with me when I started beating him at it. In fact, any time I beat him at a videogame (we had an Intellivision) he never played it with me again. In the end, he was only willing to play video golf with me, which I hated because it was boring.

Heh. I think it was the first game I could routinely beat my dad at. Mostly because I played it more. :)
