God, there were actually some really funny scenes in this movie (just like in the first, the part with the giant robots trying to hide in the parent's garden = epic). But overall I thought it was a giant mess. I was getting a bad feeling when I saw there was a third guy involved in writing the screen play. From what I've readon AICN news, Herc knows this third guy and he's a giant clusterfuck. He blames him, too.

I love that garden scene. Shia's whole storyline in the first one is a great send-up of every 80s teen movie.

And yeah, "mess" is a good way to describe the sequel.
