[There is music, as there often is from him. In World's End, he had a wider choice, a better selection - here it is his humble lyre, but he sees nothing to complain about in that. The melody itself is something pleasant, perhaps uplifting to hear, even if it is based around simple scales ( Read more... )

fae: general, winter is coming, so sociable, minstrelling, sparring as stress relief, fae: hyter sprites, apparently just a minstrel

[ Melusine likes this song. :3 ]

It's actually been long since I've seen winter...

If it pleases you...I could offer my lance. I've been in need of a bit of practice anyway.

Indeed? Where last I walked, the winter was a long and bitter thing, and marked a ceaseless battle that did little to warm us.

Regardless, my lady - that would please me a great deal.

[ Zelda is quiet throughout Sheik's song, her eyes closed. ]

This land is gentle, unlike her inhabitants. We shall be well prepared for winter, so long as we continue to work toward our collective well being.

[ Then, opening her eyes, ] The World's End was cruel enough to instill such worry in a Sheikah?

It was not a realm that was forgiving of complacency, my lady. While we should not have to face some of the hardships the Tower brought, I do not wish to believe that we shall be spared entirely. Winter wind may bring more than ice and snow.

We should inquire of those who experienced the previous winter. I believe Link was among them.

If I may, what sort of hardships did the inhabitants of World's End endure?

I would not see him as the most reliable source for a report, princess.

The winter of End World was a fell thing. I admit, I had only felt its like in the bitter north. But it was not only the icy chill and walls of snow that threatened us...

One thing you must understand of that place, my lady, was that it was where all worlds met. Therefore, things bled through as a raw wound through a bandage... The shift and turn of the tower brought many things, from many realms, and in winter...

It so happens that in Westeros, there is a legend told of the coldest of armies. The Others walk garbed in frost, dead to our world. They are strong and they are quick, they know neither pain nor fatigue - only one thing can bring them down. And with them come wights, not near so strong, but many. The touch of all is an infliction of agonizing cold, and their weapons shatter steel.

Every winter night, we were locked in battle with them. Without fail.

Winter here was a bit tough. There was a lot of snow.

If you want that spar, I'd like to give my sword a go, too.

'A bit tough'...

[His lips quirk. The change is faintly audible.]

I see.

Well, let's give it a try.

[The music is what initially draws her in, but it's the topic of sparring that holds her interest. She switches it to video and her eyes study him for a moment.]

Are you human?

[It's rather difficult to tell when most of his face is obscured.]

[The single visible eyebrow raises.]

I am not, my lady.

[Her brow arches as well. But there is no other shift in her expression.]

There seem to be very few who are. [Without hesitation.] What are you?
