I spent the majority of it reading. Seriously.

Saturday morning I finished The Book Thief (which is now one of my favorite books ever), and Saturday afternoon I started Twilight, on my Evil Twin's recommendation. I finished all 500 pages of it this afternoon, and after a nap, began reading New Moon. If I keep going at this pace, I'll have New Moon ( Read more... )

Ah, that whole paragraph about the novel-in-works describes my own thoughts exactly. I mean completely exactly. It's good to know I'm not the only one going through that. :/ But the important part I guess is that we get back to our novel-in-works eventually one way or another I suppose.

What about the character has drawn you in so much? Just curious.

And dang you read FAST.

Initially, I think I was drawn into Edward as a character for all the typical reasons - he was mysterious, his actions and words were often contradictory, etc. It was more curiosity than anything. As I read further in the first book, though, it struck me how complex a character he truly is, and how much thought and effort Stephanie Meyer must have put into his character development to make him so dynamic. His mannerisms, his quirks, his facial expressions... along with his words and actions... are just all so perfectly synched. And despite his status as a non-human, he is so ridiculously human in so many ways - that intrigues me.
