"Don't regret a good run because of a spill at the end. (:

Yeah, but man am I getting dumped on this past month. Just gotta remember my own words (or actually Shelly's words, I often quote.

"The trumpet of a prophecy! O Wind,
If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?"

Yeah, when C lost his wallet about a week ago, it felt ~kind of~ similar, especially when thinking of certain wallet photos he'd been carrying around since 1991 or so. Luckily, I found out afterward that I'd been immature and taken some of the ones from when we first started dating out during an argument, so in the end, those are the ones we still have ;)

I hear you about the Passport though. It's one of my treasures. I actually get slightly miffed when no one is there to put a stamp in when I travel to a new country, it's like you're missing a signature in an autograph book or something.

~Maybe~ someone will do the right thing and return it if found. In the meantime, get things in motion for the new incarnation of it, and start making plans for all the far-flung places you'll travel to with it!

I am hoping it materializes, even if I get a new one. This is the 3rd incarnation. I would like all of them together without a big 7 year hole in my travel book.

Have you done that 'where/when is the last place you remember having it' thing? Especially with passports, they are flat, easy to end up behind things or down the couch or in some luggage pocket you forgot you had or in a stack of papers.

I agree with kest about looking in odd places.

Will you be able to get a new one asap due to your travel plans in a few weeks?

I'm still looking around, but I've torn apart my apt twice over. I even looked in my boots, under everything the cats could swat something under. Opening every book took forever.

At least I live in a city with a passport agency. They can whip one up for me in a day. I have an appointment monday, so NYE in Zurich is still on.

I have a layover in LHR. I'll wave & smile in your general direction. :)

You had it that long? I kill one in the washing machine every year or two...

Passport holder theevilchemist December 10 2009, 13:03:46 UTC
My 1st one was so worn, I was hassled by two really erm hot Czech border patrol guards. "This passport is invalid. You cannot continue..." I thought that weird music was going to start playing in the background.

Then uberwensch got me a passport holder that holds my airline tickets & foreign currency. It's big enough that it doesn't end up in the wash, but small enough to fit into a BDU pocket. This is why I am baffled at its dissappearance. I always put it in there.
