...have any of y'all ever gone to the Acadiana Medieval Faire? I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never made it out there before... Is it any good???

I've never been. I've got a friend who has been a few times. Loves it. I dunno though! I've been to the Renaissance Festival a few times in Plantersville, TX though... veeery interesting! Had a good time.

Well, I've been to almost every one in Hammond, Louisiana, but I've never tried out the Lafayette-area one. Never really hear anything about it...ever. It's funny that you should mention the one in Texas, because I know a LOT of Louisianians who won't go to the Louisiana ones but will go to that one in Texas "because it's bigger," LOL.

This must be a recent thing, like in the last 8 years or so.. i'm from Lafayette, and i've never heard of it.. but I'd love to go :)

Hmmm...I found some evidence online that it has been held before (see this link that mentions 2001 and 2003, but it also looks like maybe they may have had some growing pains and might have had to shut it down for a year or two (see this link)...hard to tell...
