This bit - "She doesn't even realise what she's become until she sees his face again" - is really quite powerful. The idea, as well, that she wears a mask, literally and figuratively, but that Robin also wears a mask in the form of his cocky grin, while not a new concept in fanfic, is also powerful. I've never seen anyone put it quite that way before.

Heartbreaking, especially the last line. Oh, Robin. I really loved this line: "Marian realises saying goodbye is no easier when the person you're saying it to is still alive to hear you."
