Ms. Scully was in this condition when I arrived for the evening shift.
Mulder has walked these hallways before, sickened by exhaustion, the guilt of their quest stooping his shoulders to new lows.
Look, Sir. You're going to have to calm down.
He knows it’s late, that she’s sleeping. He stands over her bed, now and years ago, not knowing what to do or what to say or why he’s even really here. His arms hang loose at his sides, watching her chest rise and fall.
