Killing Osama is just asking for the cycle to continue. Look at Israel: It is just one revenge killing after another. I know you won't believe me, but this solves nothing. What solves things is what has been going on in the Middle East since March: grassroots revolution.
Killing anyone just proves that there is no moral higher ground.

It may not solve anything, but what should we have done?

I want out of Afghanistan as much as anybody, but how will it look if we leave the country before it is stable? We made a mess. Isn't it our responsibility to clean up the mess before we leave? I don't have the answer to that. I'm just saying we are in a shitty situation. There is no good choice.

And I would like to point out that Bush's decisions are the ones we have inherited and that has put us into the no-win.
To me, it is an easier decision: Our presence exacerbates the situation (which is the perception that we're hegemonic, colonising dicks who kill brown people) and is expensive, leading to domestic problems. Getting out of foreign wars is a win-win.
