I'm in complete shock about this. I remember hearing that he was ill a couple of years ago and had to cancel a convention at the time, but I had no idea it was this serious.

Rest in peace indeed.

I remember him sitting rather standing through a photosession once - Quortoth possibly? He had to have oxygen on the flight around irrc But he came anyway. Were you at the con where Dayne spoke about breaking into his apartment and taking him off to ER? I think perhaps the seriousness of the condition wasn't made widely known.

I didn't see the news until this morning so I am like 'wah!' We all have fond memories of him though, don't we. Such a shame, so young.

That story brings back fond memories. I loved that Andy's response to Dayne's ringing of the doorbell to see if he was alright was to take a hammer to the doorbell system - rather than open the door so that Dayne wouldn't have to break in. The following year the doorbell still wasn't fixed - I remember asking him if he'd got it fixed in the auto session and he burst out laughing and called across to Dayne about it.

Yes, that was it!! I remember you asking about the doorbell. Classic.

And was it Sparky and him talking about 'absolutely' when he got a 'prop' drink on stage??

I'm stunned. He was so young and full of vitality (even when he was recovering at the convention and evidently still under the weather he still had more energy than us.) I'm looking at the duck on my bookshelf - signed by Andy in Grimsby - feeling quite sad that such a lovely person is no longer in the world. I feel for his family and friends. He was so generous and open to fans/strangers, he must have been quite something to those who truly knew him.

I thing he made an impression on everyone he met, he certainly gave 110%. We have great memories of him, don't we.

What a star he was. I just had to call J who's out today and really struggled to tell him, shocking and sad news, and still can't quite believe it.

It's really sad. He was so talented and brought such a warmth to his character. And he sounded like a very kind man.
