So thats 8 vids 1 vidlet. just over half of what I had made in 2005. So not so much quantity but I like to think more quality.
My personal Favourite
Just from the feeling I get when I watch it, and recalling how I felt when I made it - What a Swell Party. Everything just felt so right.
Least Favourite
Purely because the song is so widely vidded it has to be 'Too Sexy', but that's the only reason.
Best
Hmm torn between Signal and Swell Party - couldn't get two more different vids but I wouldn't be able to choose between them.
Worst
Oh I dunno. Livin' Doll is pretty disposable but it was an exercise to get me back into the swing of things after the vidding muse went awol so it did it's job.
Under appreciated
I'm lucky - my flist is pretty good at responding to my vid posts and I have a backup viewing squad that have to watch them. I think some of the comedy or perhaps the music choice in 'swell' may have left some feeling a little meh.
Fun
Swell Party by a country mile, then House Rules - both were projects to songs that for me were so right.
Hardest
Signal To Noise - For several reasons, the audio had to be edited severly and I am crap at that sort of thing, it still ended up very long. Also I love the movie so much I was concerned that nothing I made would do it justice, so I wrangled with the notion for a very long time before going ahead with the project. I spent months listening to the song and thinking it through, I feel that really helped, having a tendency to rush headlong into these things, getting bored and impatient by the end of the project. Some technical grief from WMM and adobe prem and the sound synching /overlays.
What I have Learnt
WMM still sucks big time but if it is the only editing program that will run with your current system set up - go with what you know and hate. That said I have picked up some plug in effects for WMM which have helped alot this year.
Take your time to the bitter end, don't settle for 'it'll do' because you know it will bug the living crap out of you each time you watch the jeffing vid.
Trying to produce vids and artwork throughout the year ruins your eyesight.
That I really do 'it' for me and if others like what they see then fine, I am a fan that makes vids not a vidder and currently that status suits me fine.
Things to do in 2007
Start on all those ideas you have bouncing around your head, Angelus and Vast, Spike and Peter Gabriel, Riley and Jilted John. Make another FF vid if the right song/music presents itself. Persuade hubs that the graphics card will solve the Adobe Prem Problem plus some memory and make your first Adobe Vid.
