I finally have more information about what Eric intends to do for the Marines. Apparently, he's going into boot camp in September or October. It really is going to happen, and soon. He's got the 3 months of basic training, return for 10 days, then more training for 6 weeks or so thing that I feel like I know so well already, though it's not like I' ( Read more... )

The problem is that I'm not good at TALKING to people about stuff like this...I tend to just be angry at them, and make my point about what a bad idea it is, etc...not a good way to go about it. So I've already done that with him. I don't know if there's really anybody that would talk him out of it. His mom totally agrees with him. I mean, what can he do? He's got a kid to support, and his mom can't let them live with her for too much longer. I guess it's their life, though. I'm just more concerned about Lucy not really having any say in it.

I'm sorry to hear this.
I disagree with several things you said. But thats beside the point.
I hope he's ok for the sake of your sister and the baby.
