He's the perfect compliment to my Kakashi. You don't make him too angry or too forgiving, which are the big parts of his character that are hard to balance out.
I'm more than a little worried about how others see him. You know he's still rather angry sometimes, but he hasn't had too many opportunities to show it. I mean, he was pissed at Kashi for the cheating thing, but I didn't really get to show that, either.
Iruka is a balance of caretaker and leader. He'll smile sweetly and be proud of his students, but god help them if they step over that line. I adore this duality, and every time it shows up it makes me laugh. And making Kashi sleep on the couch. You have this duality down pat. And I can see that self-esteem issue. In canon he's kind of plain and in the background. With someone like Kashi . . . I'm sure that would flare up.
At times he's almost too sweet, but it's a matter of degrees. He's a very kind man, but he's not a pushover. It would be a very subtle adjustment to make, and it might come with more interaction with the students. Over all I adore your Iruka, and his interactions with Kashi. Not my favorite pairing, but it's rapidly growing on me. I'm looking forward to the musical, to see some more interaction with Iruka and his students. Especially his wayward daughter.
Even though I haven't logged with you at all (WE MUST FIX THIS YES/YES?) I must say when I read logs with Iruka in them I find him incredibly adorable and optimistic. Which is just what Iruka has to be. Keep up the wonderful work! :)
